We had our first measurable snow in 63 years on Christmas Day, and I used the thrower the following morning. It was very much like operating a vacuum cleaner, about the same level of noise, and the six-inch wheels made it easy to push up the slight incline of my driveway. SAFETY NOTE: For use with a 100' extension cord, the cord must be 12 gauge! A 14 gauge cord is rated only to 50' Pros: Easy to assemble, once I found the stray nut and bolt that were hiding in the bottom of the carton. Once assembled it was easy maneuver, was not too noisy (think a canister vacuum), with intuitive controls. The snow I cleared was 5-6" deep and there was some melt underneath on the concrete drive. I cleared a 90' drive in just over an hour, compared to 3-4 hours by hand during prior year snowstorms. Cons: This is a lightweight thrower, and did not handle accumulated ice under the snow. I had to clear that by hand after I'd made my run with the thrower. With wet snow or a mix of slush and snow, I had to carefully clean the discharge chute more often than I'd have liked. Also, while the promotional material indicates it throws snow 'up to 30 feet' that was overly optimistic. It threw soft snow 10-15 feet max, which was satisfactory for my purposes.
